The Batten University men's soccer team fell to Bridgewater, 1-0.
The two sides played through a scoreless opening half. Batten recorded four shots before the break, with JaMarhe Wills and Cayden Tappan each putting an attempt on goal. Wills had another shot sail high late in the half, while Cowen Napior also recorded an attempt.
Batten continued to create opportunities after halftime. Mason Wakefield had a shot go high in the 52nd minute, while Napior put an attempt on frame in the 60th minute. Cameron Talbert also recorded a shot later in the half.
The match remained scoreless deep into the final minute before Bridgewater scored at the 89:40 mark to take a 1-0 lead. Batten was unable to find an equalizer in the closing seconds.
The Marlins finished the match with eight shots, including three on goal. Wills led Batten with three shots, while Napior added two. Tappan recorded the other shot on goal for the Marlins.
Gabe Ames started in goal for Batten and made two saves while keeping Bridgewater scoreless through the opening 45 minutes. Brady Miller played the second half in goal for the Marlins.
