VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Virginia Wesleyan University men's volleyball standout
JaMarhe Wills has been named the Peninsula Sports Club Outstanding In-State College/University Male Athlete of the Year, recognizing one of the most dominant individual seasons in program history.
A graduate of Warwick High School, Wills earned the prestigious honor after a sensational junior campaign that saw him establish himself as one of the nation's top attackers. He was also selected to the First Team All-ODAC after leading the conference with 474 kills while averaging an impressive 4.35 kills per set.
Wills combined power with efficiency throughout the season, finishing with a .325 hitting percentage. In addition to his offensive production, he contributed 203 digs and 40 total blocks, helping the Marlins in every phase of the game while totaling a team-high 521 points.
The award caps another outstanding season for Wills, who earned his second consecutive All-ODAC selection after being named to the conference's Second Team in 2025.
Throughout the season, Wills recorded 20 or more kills in 11 matches, highlighted by a career-high 28 kills against Eastern University on Feb. 7. During one remarkable stretch, he eclipsed the 20-kill mark in four consecutive matches, totaling 25 kills against Lynchburg, 21 against Concordia Chicago, and 20 each against St. John Fisher and Randolph.
Wills' outstanding play helped elevate Virginia Wesleyan men's volleyball while cementing his place among the top collegiate athletes in the Commonwealth. His selection as the Peninsula Sports Club's Outstanding In-State College/University Male Athlete of the Year is a testament to his exceptional season and the impact he made on the court.
