Baylor Baxley was named the head field hockey coach at Batten University in 2025, becoming the program's ninth head coach.
In her first season leading the Marlins, Baxley coached two All-ODAC selections in Ava Stauch and Landry Meyers while guiding the program through its first year under her leadership. Her emphasis on player development, culture, and recruiting laid the foundation for the continued growth of the program.
Prior to Batten, Baxley spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Hood College, where she was involved in all facets of the program, including practice planning, player development, recruiting, game-day preparation, scouting, and administrative operations. She played a key role in recruiting by developing a database of more than 500 prospective student-athletes and assisting with the program's recruiting strategy and financial aid process. During her tenure, Hood produced four All-Middle Atlantic Conference selections.
In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Baxley has worked extensively in club and camp settings. She serves as a coach with Maryland Legacy Field Hockey Club and Metro Field Hockey Club, helping develop athletes from the youth through high school levels. She has also coached with Revolution Field Hockey and All American Field Hockey, directing camps and clinics focused on skill development, game strategy, and player IQ.
Beyond coaching, Baxley has demonstrated a strong commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes. While at Hood, she served as the faculty liaison for Morgan's Message, organizing campus programming to promote mental health awareness among student-athletes. She also coordinated academic meetings, goal-setting initiatives, and mentorship opportunities throughout her coaching career.
A native of Maryland, Baxley earned her bachelor's degree in political science from Hood College before completing a Master of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies (Education).
