Rachel Wilson

Rachel Wilson enters her second season as an assistant coach for the Batten University women's soccer program as she joined the team in December of 2024.

A former captain for the Marlins, Wilson provides a strong understanding of the program while helping with player development, training sessions, and the day-to-day operations of the team.

Wilson earned her bachelor's degree in Recreational Therapy from Virginia Wesleyan University and is currently pursuing a master's degree in Arts Leadership and Nonprofit Management.

Outside of athletics, Wilson serves as an Assistant Leader in Recreational Therapy with Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation, where she develops and implements therapeutic recreation programs while monitoring participant progress. She also gained experience through internships with Ability360's Therapeutic Recreation Department in Phoenix, Arizona, and the Norfolk Therapeutic Recreation Center, working with adaptive sports and recreation programs for individuals of all abilities.

During her undergraduate career, Wilson demonstrated a commitment to leadership and service as captain of the women's soccer team, a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), and a Morgan's Message representative, promoting mental health awareness for student-athletes and helping organize campus and community service initiatives.

Wilson graduated from Virginia Wesleyan, Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Recreational Therapy. She had a successful four-year career from 2020-2024. The Orange County, CA native was an outstanding midfielder for the Marlins. At VWU she won two ODAC Tournament Championships, a final four appearance, and a sweet sixteen appearance, and was named captain in her junior and senior years.
