The Batten University women's soccer team improved to 4-0-1 on the season with a 2-0 victory over Salisbury (0-5-1).
Batten controlled the match from the opening half, outshooting Salisbury 10-1 through the first 45 minutes. The Marlins broke through in the 36th minute when Courtney Mills found the back of the net to give Batten a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The Marlins continued to apply pressure after the break. In the 63rd minute, Alexis Manfredi set up Alaina Alston, who scored to extend the Batten lead to 2-0.
Batten finished the night with a 17-3 advantage in shots, putting nine attempts on goal while also earning 12 corner kicks compared to Salisbury's two. Mills led the attack with four shots, all four on goal, while Alston recorded three shots and two shots on goal. Manfredi added three shots along with the assist on Alston's second-half goal.
Allie Greco played all 90 minutes in goal for Batten and helped secure the clean sheet as the Marlins remained unbeaten through their first five matches of the season.
